June Events Worth Putting on Your Calendar
June always feels like the unofficial start of summer in the Pacific Northwest. The days are longer, the weather is finally cooperating (most of the time), and the calendar starts filling up with festivals, outdoor events, waterfront activities, and community celebrations.
If you're looking for something fun to do this month, here are a few events that caught my eye.
Seattle World Cup Fan Celebrations
Seattle is one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the city is embracing the excitement in a big way. Throughout June and July, you'll find fan celebrations, viewing events, cultural activities, and family-friendly experiences happening throughout Seattle, including Seattle Center and the waterfront. It's a unique opportunity to experience the energy of a global event right here at home.
Summer at the Center
Seattle Center's annual Summer at the Center series is back with concerts, cultural events, community activities, and special World Cup-themed programming. Many events are free, making it a great option for families looking for affordable summer fun.
Seattle Center Festál Events
One of my favorite things about Seattle is the diversity of cultures represented throughout the region. Seattle Center's Festál series continues this month with several free cultural festivals, including the Indigenous People Festival and Seattle Iranian Festival. Expect food, music, performances, art, and family-friendly activities.
Seattle PrideFest
PrideFest returns to Seattle Center on June 28 and is one of the largest free Pride celebrations in the country. The event includes live entertainment, community programming, food vendors, and activities throughout the day.
Waterfront Events at Pier 62
Seattle's revitalized waterfront continues to host a variety of community events, performances, and cultural celebrations throughout the summer. Whether you're attending a festival or simply taking a stroll along the waterfront, it's a great excuse to spend a day in the city.
My Take
One of the things I love most about living in the Greater Seattle area is how much there is to do this time of year. Whether you're exploring a new festival, spending time on the waterfront, or simply enjoying a sunny evening outside, June is one of the best months to get out and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
If there's an event I missed that's become a favorite tradition for your family, I'd love to hear about it!
